Acoustic Air Raid – today at the Bombed Out Church

Looking for something to do this sunny Summer Sunday? Look no further than John Head at Acoustic Air Raid in the bombed out church…
John Harvest from Harvest Sun explains all…
“We are Harvest Sun Promotions and we are here to enlighten your musical journey. We promise you the finest tunes, vibes and venues guaranteed to whet your audio appetite.
In the distant future we hope to bring you Bob Dylan on St. Georges Plateau, Neil Young in Dr. Duncan’s and Su-Bo in St Johns Precinct.
But first we have the small matter of our ‘premiere’ event, Acoustic Air Raid at 2pm on 9th August at the iconic ‘Bombed Out Church’ on the corner of Berry Street/Leece Street in town.
Getting the church was a big factor in getting this up and running and a big thanks must go to Liz Carlisle and Ambrose Reynolds of Urban Strawberry Lunch who look after and maintain the church. They do a great job in what really is an ‘oasis of calm’ in the hustle and bustle of town.
Headlining the big day is none other than the excellent John Head, from our favourite band Shack. John needs no introduction on the local music scene and judging by his recent outings this promises to be one to remember, with the Bombed Out Church providing the perfect back-drop and acoustics to bring out the best in his stellar song-writing ability.
Also on board are some of our local favourite’s Misery Gut’s, who first caught our eye, coincidentally, supporting John at the Zanzibar last summer, and The Grande. Both have a string of gigs under their belt and have been making quite a name for themselves on the Liverpool gig circuit. Along with the up and coming Pod Cousin’s, a quality solo artist with some quality acoustic tunes to his name, these ingredients make for a great day out for families and music fans alike.
We also have spoken word between bands provided by Owen Allen.
2pm 9 August, St. Lukes Church (The Bombed Out Church) L1 2TR
£5, and kids in for FREE with adults.
‘BRING YOUR OWN REFRESHMENTS’
We hope you can make it down and enjoy it as much as we hope to.
Thanks,
